CPP CE...
the Conference!
Learn. Share. Implement.

CPP CE is a conference organized by the Civil Engineering Department at CPP, with the aim of bringing together academics, students, and industry to create a one-of-a kind experience to the attendees whereby researchers, practitioners, and graduate students will have the opportunity to engage in scientific discussions through participation in technical sessions, panel discussions and the conference forum. A strong graduate students’ participation is expected and encouraged. Speakers will be covering a wide range of topics and specializations, which means there is really something for everyone to discover. We look forward to seeing you at this memorable event.
Learn-by-Doing

The Civil Engineering Department at Cal Poly Pomona is a leader in polytechnic education, where hands-on learn-by-doing is the foundation of a broad-based educational experience. The department has the largest undergraduate Civil Engineering program in the United States and produces approximately 15 percent of young civil engineers in California. We offer undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees in Civil Engineering, with options in general civil, environmental, and geospatial engineering, and in Construction Engineering and Management.

Invitation
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are delighted to invite you to participate in our First Cal Poly Pomona Civil Engineering Conference (CPP CEC-01) to be held on the Cal Poly Pomona campus in Pomona, California.

We anticipate great participation from scholars in academia and local industry. The abstracts and papers will be peer-reviewed. All accepted papers that satisfy the copyediting requirements will be published in the conference proceedings, deposited in Crossref, and will be submitted to Scopus and ISI Web of Science for indexing.

Pomona is located in the Pomona Valley, approximately 30 miles East of Downtown Los Angeles. The city is the site of the Fairplex, where the annual L.A. County Fair is held. Local civil engineers recognize the Fairplex as a site that administers the state’s licensing exams. Cal Poly Pomona offers a unique combination of a rural and urban landscape and is driving distance from wine tasting venues, theme parks, beaches, and other attractions.

We look forward to seeing you in Pomona next fall.
Best wishes,

Welcome to CPP CEC-01
Dear Colleagues and Students,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the First Cal Poly Pomona Civil Engineering Conference (CPP CEC-01). We are honored to host this first conference on the Pomona campus, one of the two California polytechnic campuses. The Civil Engineering department at Cal Poly Pomona offers the largest undergraduate program in the country with a strong polytechnic education supplemented with a strong and growing Master’s program in all branches of the discipline. The impetus of the conference grew within the CE department to connect regularly with other scholars, educators, and practitioners of the State of California and beyond to meet, interact, and collaborate while engaging students, graduate and undergraduates alike, in scientific presentations and discussions. To this end, we hope that you will attend and participate in various technical sessions that are offered concurrently.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we look forward to meeting all of you individually and we hope that you will take time to also enjoy Southern California which offers much in multi-cultural events, dining, entertainment, beaches, etc.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at info-ce-conf@cpp.edu.
